Graphics Specialist (Part Time)

KBR is seeking a part-time, entry-level Graphic Specialist to support the development of 3D models for Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) simulations. This remote role is ideal for individuals with military experience and a foundational understanding of 3D modeling and asset optimization for Department of Defense (DoD) simulation environments. The successful candidate will contribute to the creation of realistic, high-fidelity models that enhance the immersion and accuracy of simulation scenarios. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with subject matter experts and simulation developers while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and impactful field.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality 3D models of military equipment and assets for DoD simulations.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and realism in all models.
- Optimize models for real-time simulation environments, focusing on polygon count, texture resolution, rigging, and performance.
- Use industry-standard 3D modeling software to develop detailed and optimized assets.
- Work closely with simulation developers to integrate models into existing frameworks.
- Conduct quality assurance and performance testing to meet visual and technical standards.
- Develop and manage textures, materials, and animations to enhance realism.
- Maintain organized asset libraries and documentation for version control and future use.
- Stay current with industry trends in 3D modeling and simulation technologies.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during development and integration phases.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Associate degree with intent to pursue a bachelor’s in game development, 3D modeling, or related field.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Maya, Adobe, or similar tools.
- Basic experience integrating 3D models into DoD simulation platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting DoD Customers
- Experience with military simulation standards and frameworks (e.g., HLA, DIS).
- Familiarity with tools and technologies for real-time simulation and visualization
- Knowledge of procedural modeling techniques and performance optimization.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: on call, less than 20 hours/week
Pay Range: $21-25/HR. The range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Position may offer a remote flexible working environment.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
