The Data & AI Enablement team is seeking a skilled and strategic Product Owner for its enterprise data science platform, with a strong focus on IBM Cloud Pak for Data tools including Watson Studio, Jupyter Notebooks, DataStage, Pipelines, and Analytics Engine.
What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and improving the usability and performance of our data platforms to meet evolving internal needs across data engineering, analytics, and data science teams. Your responsibilities will include the following:
• Acting as the primary owner and subject matter expert for core Watson Studio services, including Jupyter Notebooks, DataStage, Pipelines, and Analytics Engine
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand data preparation, ETL, and modeling needs, translating them into platform features or enhancements
• Supporting and improving workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and analysis using DataStage and other pipeline tools
• Providing expert guidance on Jupyter Notebook environments, including custom runtime setup and integration with Python, R, and enterprise GitLab
• Leading the diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues across the Watson Studio platform stack
• Defining and implementing best practices for data preparation, data modeling, and workflow orchestration
• Partnering with engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure platform reliability, scalability, and security
• Collaborating closely with enterprise architects and AI/ML stakeholders who are exploring capabilities like AutoAI, WML, and WatsonX, ensuring the current platform evolves to support future AI initiatives when ready
• Developing internal documentation and delivering training to support onboarding and ongoing platform adoption
• Driving continuous improvement in platform processes, tooling, and user experience based on feedback and analytics

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with ETL tools (Alteryx, Tableau Prep, Apache NiFi, etc) and with data modeling and data preparation at enterprise scale
• Proficiency in Python, R, and integration with enterprise Git tools (e.g., GitLab)
• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Python, Pipelines, etc)
• Experience with technical leadership
• Experience working in Agile environments and managing product backlogs
• Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills
• US citizenship is required due to program requirements; dual citizenship is excluded
Desired Skills:
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data tools including Watson Studio, Jupyter Notebooks, DataStage, and Pipelines
• Experience with Alteryx and Apache NiFi
• Experience with Airflow
• Proven experience as a product owner or technical lead for data platforms or enterprise data tools
• Strong knowledge of Git, especially Enterprise GitLab workflows, branching strategies, and integration into data workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for deploying notebooks, ETL processes, or platform configuration

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $131,000 - $227,125. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
