Who we’re looking for
Toyota is looking for team members who are passionate about technology and interested in joining a collaborative and highly motivated team as a Lead - Enterprise Compute Devices.
The primary responsibility of this role is to to lead the management and optimization of mobile devices, desktop environments, and enterprise printing solutions across a multi-platform environment. This role uniquely combines traditional device management expertise with Generative AI capabilities to drive innovation, automation, and enhanced operational efficiency. A strong Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset is essential to ensure high availability, performance, and security of all enterprise compute devices.
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Compute Device Engineering, Compliance & Global Collaboration, the person in this role will join the Cloud Engineering & Software Development Support team to build and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure and systems.
What you’ll be doing
Mobile Device Management (MDM):
Manage mobile devices to enhance customer experience, ensure compliance, and support production applications.
Oversee application support through SOTI and Intune, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
Coordinate app device refresh cycles and conduct thorough testing of new devices and operating systems.
Lead beta testing initiatives for new devices and OS versions, gathering feedback for improvements.
Implement app data and device protection management strategies to safeguard sensitive information.
Manage license procurement and compliance for all mobile applications and devices.
Explore and implement generative AI solutions to automate and enhance MDM processes, improving efficiency and user experience.
Develop AI-driven insights and analytics to inform decision-making related to mobile device management and application support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI integration in MDM workflows and processes.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in mobile device management and generative AI technologies.
Proactively identify areas for improvement within existing MDM processes and propose innovative solutions.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate team members on best practices and new technologies related to MDM and generative AI.
Compute and Peripheral Device Standards:
Establish and maintain device standards, including configurations for operating systems (iOS, Windows, Linux, etc.), browsers, and group policies to ensure optimal performance and security.
Explore and implement generative AI solutions to automate and enhance device management processes, improving efficiency and decision-making.
Implement Modern Organizational Units (OUs) and Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) for enhanced security.
Manage model changes and vendor transitions to ensure alignment with business requirements.
Define desktop and laptop standards, including image production change validations and removal of non-supported operating systems.
Oversee client group policy management to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Develop AI-driven insights and analytics to inform device standardization and compliance efforts.
Collaborate with IT teams to identify opportunities for AI integration in device management workflows.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in device management and generative AI technologies.
Wireless Telecom Management:
Collaborate with telecom carriers to manage costs and deliver high-quality products and services.
Explore and implement generative AI solutions to analyze telecom data, providing insights that inform decision-making and strategy.
Set corporate phone standards and reconcile discrepancies in user information and billing.
Identify and remove “zero usage” lines to optimize telecom expenses.
Automate telecom processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Manage monthly invoice payments and dispute erroneous charges with telecom vendors.
Lead corporate phone refresh initiatives and engage in carrier contract discussions with Procurement and Vendor Management Office (VMO).
Device Management:
Oversee Windows device management using SCCM (On-Premises) and Intune (Cloud), ensuring devices perform optimally and remain secure.
Manage Mac device lifecycle using Jamf, developing and enforcing standards and best practices.
Lead the creation and maintenance of device images for new hardware models across Windows, Linux, and other platforms, ensuring compatibility and performance.
Conduct comprehensive hardware and software inventory reporting to maintain accurate asset records.
Manage Windows system upgrades, including drivers, firmware, and BIOS updates, to uphold system integrity.
Implement and manage Intune Autopilot configurations for laptop provisioning and oversee software packaging and deployment processes.
Drive automation initiatives to streamline device management workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve operational efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into device management processes.
Enterprise Printing:
Configure and support secure printing solutions with multi-functional devices (Canon MFDs) across office locations.
Oversee image capture secure print solutions for R&D locations, ensuring compliance and security.
Manage the maintenance of warehouse printers through Peak Technologies, ensuring operational efficiency.
Migrate all copper fax lines on MFDs to RightFax solutions to modernize communication processes.
Handle monthly invoice payments for Canon and Peak Technologies, ensuring budget adherence.
Lead MFD refresh ordering and new printer setup at expansion locations.
Provide software support for iWSAM (R&D) to ensure seamless printing operations.
What you bring
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in IT management with a focus on enterprise compute devices. Proven expertise in mobile device management, device management standards, wireless telecom, and enterprise printing solutions.
Technical Skills:
Strong hands-on proficiency with MDM solutions including SCCM, Intune, Jamf, and enterprise printing technologies.
Experience integrating Generative AI technologies to enhance device management, automate workflows, and improve operational efficiency.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
Additional Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
Added bonus if you have
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Mobility+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar are preferred.
Preferred: Experience in scripting and applying AI-driven automation in IT operations.
