Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by effectively managing inventory, handling materials, and supporting shipping and receiving processes. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to operate heavy equipment, and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.
Duties
- Operate various warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and reach trucks to facilitate the movement of goods.
- Perform inventory management tasks including tracking stock levels, conducting cycle counts, and utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS) for accurate inventory control.
- Assist with order fulfillment by picking and packing products according to customer specifications.
- Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to safety protocols established by OSHA.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Utilize RF scanners for tracking inventory movements and ensuring accurate order processing.
- Participate in shipping and receiving activities, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against packing lists or invoices.
- Engage in heavy lifting and materials handling as required during daily operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred; familiarity with warehouse distribution processes is a plus.
- Proficient in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and order pickers; certification may be required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., AS400) is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the shift.
- Knowledge of packaging techniques and order picking strategies is beneficial.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety practices is essential.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for effective stocking and inventory control.
