Where is the work:
This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week in Davidson, NC.
What you will do:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Transportation Planner II. This role is designed for individuals who have foundational experience in transportation planning and are looking to advance their skills and knowledge to prepare for further career advancement in logistics. This position will support Transportation Team Leaders by executing projects, completing standard work, conducting transportation planning, and assisting other transportation planners within the team. Transportation Planner II will ensure that transportation decisions, including rates, on-time delivery, and quality, create the "best value" for both Trane Technologies and our customers. Additionally, the role will actively participate in continuous improvement and rapid improvement events.
Responsibilities:
·Advanced Transportation Planning: Provide comprehensive transportation planning for assigned facilities, ensuring optimal routing, carrier selection, and scheduling to meet business objectives.
·Cross-Functional Support: Serve as a backup for other transportation planners as required, ensuring seamless operations and continuity.
·Innovative Process Improvement: Develop and implement innovative and aggressive approaches to transportation process improvements and price reduction strategies.
·Continuous Improvement Participation: Actively participate in 9 Step Problem Solving and rapid improvement events, owning actions and driving results.
·Strategic Planning: Demonstrate the ability to plan across all plants and distribution centers within your Strategic Business Unit (SBU), ensuring alignment with overall logistics strategy.
·OTM Testing: Conduct Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) system testing to ensure functionality and efficiency.
·Project Management: Assist with resource allocation, project plan development, and driving project execution to achieve optimal results.
·Global Business Acumen: Demonstrate regional knowledge of carriers, industry trends, emerging markets, and technology to inform strategic decisions.
· Problem Solving: Identify potential problems, conduct root cause analysis, and lead corrective action plan implementation to resolve issues effectively.
·Relationship Management: Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders within North America Logistics, share transportation research with the entire enterprise, and manage the "one Trane Technologies voice" to the carrier base.
·Other Duties: Perform other duties as directed by Transportation Team Leaders.
What you will bring:
·Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred; relative experience required in lieu of degree.
·Experience: Minimum of 2+ year experience in Supply Chain or Transportation, with demonstrated proficiency in transportation management systems; experience in Oracle
·Transportation Management (OTM) preferred.
·Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft applications, with emphasis on Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
·Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.
·Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, fostering collaboration and mutual support.
·Travel: Minimal travel required.
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $38,000- $68,000
