What does a successful Technical Writer do?
At Fiserv, a Technical Writer translates complex information into simple, polished, and engaging content. By producing clear and concise documentation, they assist clients in comprehending how to install, set up, and use Fiserv's products and services. What you will do:
- Create user guides, release notes, quick references, and other assigned content.
- Analyze and translate technical designs into user-friendly client material.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to obtain an in-depth understanding of products and documentation needs.
- Use test environments to research Fiserv products and services and obtain screen samples for documentation.
- Ensure technical accuracy, readability, and consistency across the documentation set through reviews.
- Estimate, track, and prioritize projects assigned; meet deadlines established by the team.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, or writing and/or equivalent military experience.
- 6+ years of relevant technical writing experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Style Guide and department writing standards.
- Experience with Madcap Flare, HTML, Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, SnagIT, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Experience creating technical documentation in SDLC and Agile environments.
What would be great to have:
- Experience writing user interface text and application screen content.
- Experience leading project teams and content transformation.
- Experience with AI tools.
- Knowledge of the banking industry, platforms, banking applications, or online financial solutions.
Important information about this role:
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and lead to stronger productivity.
