What does an Accountant at Fiserv do?
As an Accountant at Fiserv, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial processes. Leveraging your analytical skills and attention to detail, you will prepare and post journal entries, prepare account reconciliations, and assist in the monthly financial close. Your contributions will support our commitment to compliance with GAAP and enhance our operational efficiency. What You Will Do:
- Prepare and post journal entries and batches for daily, weekly, and monthly close reviews.
- Gather, review, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation and financial schedules for each journal entry.
- Ensure appropriate revenue recognition by reviewing customer contracts and preparing monthly revenue trends and variance analysis reports.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations across various accounts, including accounts receivable, deferred costs, accounts payable, and deferred revenue.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
- Maintain SOX internal control procedures and documentation to support compliance.
- Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 2+ years of experience in general ledger accounting and month-end close processes or relevant audit experience.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- An understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP.
What Would Be Great to Have:
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- CPA or CMA certification.
- Analytical skills for researching and resolving accounting issues.
- Experience in working collaboratively with team members and operational partners at all levels.

- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and lead to stronger productivity.
