Job Posting Title: IT Analyst
Salary: £34,455 + per annum depending upon experience
Location: Peterborough

The Opportunity
The selected candidate will become part of the Caterpillar IT team (Energy & Transportation Segment) located in Peterborough. This position involves supporting the Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) by serving as the intermediary between IT and diverse global business units, facilitating the creation of requirements, development, testing and utilisation of information systems across Sales, Marketing, Service, and the Aftermarket team.
The primary emphasis will be on gaining an in-depth understanding of the departments and their role in supporting Caterpillar's strategy aligned with available technology solutions.
The successful applicant will join a global team supporting comprehensive business operations, offering opportunities for professional growth and exposure to various business functions. Additionally, there will be experience gained with numerous application technologies and IT architectures, with a primary focus on Salesforce.
This is an excellent chance for a skilled business analyst with strong tech knowledge to enhance their capabilities by shaping and maintaining an IT portfolio for a major international organisation.
What You Will Do
Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to elicit business needs from stakeholders
Translate business requirements into actionable work items using Azure DevOps
Create user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications
Document workflows, wireframes, and high-level design diagrams to support development
Build and maintain strong relationships with key business owners across functional areas
Provide input to business cases and help define success metrics
Represent business interests in project oversight, scope definition, and delivery tracking
Stay current with Salesforce platform updates and best practices
Collaborate with Salesforce teams to design enhancements and ensure compliance with security and availability standards
Support Salesforce-related onboarding and training for new employees
What You Will Have
