Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Membership Director will be responsible for driving end-to-end sales and membership acquisition for CNBC Councils across EMEA and APAC, with a focus on European, Middle East and Singapore markets. This key role involves spearheading the prospecting and pipeline development process, expertly nurturing leads, recruiting high-calibre executives, and overseeing the seamless onboarding of members to these exclusive communities.
The Membership Director will also closely collaborate with the Planning and Engagement teams to ensure a high-quality member experience, with a focus on enhancing member retention and delivering exceptional value to our senior-level clientele.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team’s Operations Manager to develop and leverage a robust pipeline of qualified leads, ensuring alignment with CNBC Councils’ strategic objectives in international markets (EMEA & APAC)
- Drive membership acquisition by engaging with C-suite leaders and their teams across key global regions (UK, Continental Europe, UAE, Singapore), executing on ambitious sales goals while delivering a tailored, consultative approach.
- Identify prospective Council members and co-develop editorial activations that delight existing members and help attract new members by building a strong relationship with international editorial and strategy teams
- Craft compelling marketing and sales messaging that effectively communicates the unique value proposition of CNBC Councils, tailored to the specific needs of potential members in target regions
- Source, invite, and recruit high-level executives into the Councils, managing the entire lifecycle of membership—from initial outreach to successful onboarding and beyond—using CRM systems and other analytical tracking tools to maintain accurate records
- Use data to drive decision-making, regularly analysing trends, digging into Salesforce reports, and using insights to refine outreach strategies and measure the effectiveness of membership acquisition & engagement efforts
- Respond to inbound inquiries regarding CNBC Councils’ programs, effectively vetting potential members against community requirements and editorial standards while ensuring high quality, relevant additions to the membership
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with C-level executives and other key stakeholders across leading companies, serving as a trusted point of contact and advocate for their membership experience
- Leverage CNBC’s media partnerships and visibility at trade events and industry conferences to strategically expand the network, while positioning the Councils as a must-have resource for top-tier executives
- Regularly update senior leadership on sales progress, providing actionable insights based on client feedback and market trends to suggest improvements and adjustments to our membership offerings
- Collaborate with Engagement and Marketing teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies, ensuring alignment between membership acquisition goals and broader marketing campaigns that support member recruitment and engagement.
Qualifications
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in B2B sales or account management, financial services sales, executive recruiting, or similar fields, preferably in membership programs professional events for executives, or working with C-suite leaders
- Excellent verbal written skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with key cross-functional partners. Knowledge of critical issues facing C-level individuals, including industry trends and challenges specific to international markets (EMEA & APAC)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, track performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions using CRM systems like Salesforce
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute GTM strategies that align with sales goals and broader organizational objectives.
- Experience in cultivating and managing long-term relationships with C-suite leaders and other elite decision-makers across leading global organizations, with a comfort level in engaging with the most senior executives.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as needed to support membership acquisition and engagement efforts, including attending key events and meetings in EMEA, APAC, and U.S. regions
- Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills (e.g. Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin) are a plus for engaging with international members.
- Experience collaborating with journalists and newsroom partners a plus

- Willingness to travel as required and to work flexible hours when necessary
- Ability to work and live in the UK.
