Position Summary
CVS Media Exchange (CMX) is dedicated to driving measurable outcomes for our suppliers, merchants, stores, GMs, brand advertisers, agencies, and clients. Our full-funnel ad solutions leverage CVS’s in-store and online data, extensive reach, and unique positioning in the pharmacy and provider space to provide measurable results for our clientele. With a range of flexible pricing and buying models, including self-service, these solutions help businesses build brand awareness, engage with CVS consumers, and convert CVS consumers to shoppers.
Our Lead Director, In-Store Experiential will be responsible for CMX's full In-Store product offering including digital screens, audio and experiential activations. Will work closely with category pods (GMC, Health & Wellness, Pharma and BPC) to identify, sell and manage our in-store products. Provides strategic leadership and oversees sales operations within CMX by setting sales targets and goals, developing sales strategies and plans, managing a sales team of Experiential Specialists, monitoring sales performance, building and maintaining customer relationships, and collaborating with other departments to drive revenue growth. Applies leadership skills, market knowledge, and sales expertise to motivate and guide their team, optimize sales processes, and achieve sales objectives.
What you will do
- Contributes to business objectives by creating a sales strategy to achieve industry-wide In-Store Experiential sales targets within the annual operating plan by building plans to achieve internal annual objectives across various areas.
- Advises management on broad approaches and areas of opportunities to meet targets and long-range plans, highlighting areas of concern or bottlenecks.
- Drives cross-team/functional workstream by tracking against key performance metrics, creating a playbook for the industry in partnership with other industry managers, and crafting conference-worthy case studies.
- Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs, developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices, analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans, and determining and supporting resource requirements.
- Measures outcomes to ensure desired results, identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities, promoting a customer environment, and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
- Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives.
- Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps, recruiting, selecting, and developing talent, supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning, and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
- Builds, leads, and develops a team by providing direction and guidance to associates on career development, providing constructive feedback to associates to enhance skills, knowledge, brand perception, institutional knowledge, and work performance, and conducting performance and career development conversations.
- Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values
into all programs and practices.
This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office, Tuesday - Thursday) at one of our hubs (NYC, Boston/Wellesley, or Chicago).
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years in retail media advertising or retail/ecommerce agency experience, including audio sales and digital screen sales experience.
- 4+ years’ experience managing high performing media sales teams.
- Strong network of decision makers on the branding side in the in-store space.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$105,000.00 - $231,132.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
