KBR is seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the Naval Aviation Systems Command (NAVAIR) Aviation Product Lifecycle Management (AvPLM) program. This role focuses on capturing and mapping requirements from legacy Naval Aviation Logistics IT systems into the enterprise PLM solution and managing digital representations of technical baselines. The successful candidate will drive lifecycle activities impacting sustainment metrics and support the implementation of a Digital Engineering (DE) environment across tools and classification levels. This position requires collaboration with government and industry teams, contributing to innovative solutions that improve system reliability, maintainability, and overall program efficiency. Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyze and synthesize Requirements, Interfaces, Behavior, Structure, and Parametrics (RIBS-P) across system baselines using MBSE/SysML and modeling/simulation tools.
- Support the establishment of a Digital Engineering (DE) environment, including methods, processes, tools, training, and network data transfers to create a cohesive digital thread.
- Perform analysis, synthesis, definition, and management of sustainment requirements, lifecycle logistics functional analysis, maintenance analysis, system design, trade studies, model validation, and automated documentation generation using MBSE tools.
- Assist in creating technical foundations to rapidly resolve obsolescence, streamline configuration management, develop maintenance and training systems, and establish integrated sustainment roadmaps.
- Guide the development of model views and coordinate the definition, review, and approval of system design feature attributes across the technical team.
- Provide model-based evaluations of system designs to support engineering decisions.
Basic Qualifications
- Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen with a DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited college or university. Experience cannot substitute for education.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of MBSE/digital engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Logistics experience supporting DoD military platforms/systems, including familiarity with logistics databases and manuals.
- Proficiency in SysML, MagicDraw/Cameo, and MATLAB.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week
Basic Compensation: $103,000-$155,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
