Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines is looking for a Power BI Data Engineer to advance digital transformation efforts by developing data solutions that support our business operations and decision-making processes. This role involves transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights through interactive dashboards and will be responsible for the design, creation, and maintenance of data models to support reporting needs.
You will play a pivotal role on high-visibility Power BI data products within the Commercial Engines business and, in partnership with business stakeholders and technical teams, directly support data and digital transformation initiatives.
What You Will Do:
Visualization & Reporting: Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop. Present trends, patterns, and key insights in a visually compelling and user-friendly format.
Data Modeling & Analysis: design and build data models that align with business requirements, converting raw data into meaningful visualizations. Use DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create efficient, scalable models.
Data Integration & Transformation: Connect to various data sources and use SQL and/or Power Query to extract, transform, and load data. Ensure high performance and reliability of data transformation processes and pipelines.
Work with SMEs to understand complex datasets for next generation data products and data visualizations
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all reports and dashboards.
Provide support and troubleshooting for Power BI solutions, including performance tuning and data refresh issues.
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders to understand reporting needs. Communicate complex data insights in a clear and accessible manner to non-technical audiences.
Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features, best practices, and industry trends in data analytics.
Able to provide after-hours support for monthly deployments and critical production bugs on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of work experience in data related fields or an Advanced Degree and 3 years of work experience in data related fields.
3 years of professional experience as a data analyst or data engineer.
Demonstrated proficiency in Power BI, SSRS, and the use of SQL to wrangle, clean, and integrate data from a variety of sources.
Data Modeling: Strong command of SQL, DAX and Power Query for data modeling and transformation.
Integration: Familiarity with integrating Power BI with Azure and other Power Platform services such as Power Automate and Microsoft Fabric.
Knowledge and understanding of general business operations, preferably in the commercial aviation industry
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred), ETL tools such as SSIS, and DBMS platforms such as SQL Server or Oracle. Experience working in cloud data warehouses like Synapse and Databricks.
Business experience with Aerospace or other heavy manufacturing industry.
An astute individual, with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships; excited at the prospect of developing and implementing new data products that add organizational value & improve decision making capabilities.
Experience documenting data flows, training documents, and data dictionaries.
Experience working on an Agile Scrum team
Communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail for the purpose of delivering tech data and sensitive information to internal stakeholders.

This role is:
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
