The Private Markets Distribution (PMD) team is a global team responsible for leading and driving all capital formation activities for MSIM’s Private Markets platform. The team works closely with the investment teams, the global sales teams, marketing, and senior leadership to plan and execute private capital raises.
As an Executive Director in PMD, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the private market counterparts among our institutional clients and prospects and growing our Revenue and AUM, with a focus on Private Credit.
What you’ll do in the role
- Responsible for growing our Revenue and AUM simultaneously across Private Credit.
- Responsible for the daily communication and collaboration with Sales and Alternatives Consultant Coverage persons.
- Develop strong relationships with the individual Investment Teams and the Alternatives Consultant Coverage and Sales Teams
- Maintain and share proper client reports and meeting notes.
- Work in cooperation with Marketing, Compliance and Legal on product development.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Ideally 10+ years plus of experience on an asset management platform of a size and scale offering private credit solutions.
- A history of commercial success driving private market sales, distribution, product, and client engagement with sophisticated asset owners across North America.
- Strong understanding of private credit securities/investments, strategies, and markets.
- Investment and markets acumen with the ability to synthesize, distill, and articulate alternative investment strategies in a straightforward manner.
- Market awareness with the ability to obtain and retain detailed knowledge of various investment strategies.
- Results-oriented thinker who embraces accountability.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
