The Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead technology-enabled transformation across the finance and tax functions, with a focus on building and operationalizing modern data platforms, engineering AI-driven solutions, and embedding governance across digital finance ecosystems. This role is ideal for a forward-thinking technologist with a strong grounding in tax and finance operations who can architect, implement, and scale digital products that streamline processes, improve compliance, and deliver strategic value.
The role will lead cross-functional delivery teams in modernizing finance and tax through the design of digital architectures, enabling data platform engineering and DevOps capabilities, managing IT risk and controls, and orchestrating third-party vendor ecosystems for tools such as finance and tax data lakes, applications, workflow platforms, and emerging AI technologies.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and implementation of data platforms supporting tax and finance automation, including architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and DevOps best practices.
• Define and operationalize roadmaps that align to enterprise data and transformation strategies, with milestones for AI enablement and platform scalability.
• Oversee evaluation, selection, and integration of digital tax and finance solutions (e.g., RPA, AI/ML platforms, data lakes).
• Assess, identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement and business integration
• Establish and coordinate with client parties on IT governance frameworks, including security, privacy, access controls, and audit readiness across technology environments.
• Deliver finance and tax data products built on platforms like Snowflake, including layered data models, analytical views, and integration endpoints for business intelligence or AI services.
• Serve as technical advisor on tax and finance transformation programs, including re-architecting processes like Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (OTC), and Record-to-Report (RTR) for digital enablement.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, IT, Risk, Legal) and external vendors to design, configure, and deploy scalable tax and finance technology ecosystems.
• Provide technical assistance in structured RFP and vendor selection processes, evaluating cost of ownership (TCO), integration complexities, and scalability of solutions
• Lead change management and digital upskilling efforts across finance and tax teams to ensure effective adoption of new platforms and processes.
• Monitor emerging technologies in AI, analytics, and cloud computing to advise on strategic innovation opportunities.
The Requirements
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Tax, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of Public Accounting, Corporate Tax, or Digital Finance experience
• Advanced certifications preferred
• Strong background in data engineering, DevOps pipelines, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Experience architecting and operating modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery), including schema design, compute scaling, access control, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Azure Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
• Familiarity with tax and enterprise technology vendors (e.g., ONESOURCE, Corptax, Alteryx, Tableau, SAP, Oracle Cloud, Workiva).
• Understanding of IT general controls (ITGCs), data privacy, and audit frameworks (e.g., SOC 1/2).
• Exceptional communication and program management skills; proven ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
