A summer research internship position is available in the Regulated PK/ADA Bioanalytical group within the Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism, and Bioanalytics (PDMB) function of Our company Research Laboratories in West Point, Pennsylvania. The Regulated Bioanalytical (RegBA) group is a center of excellence for developing, optimizing, and validating assays to support preclinical and clinical testing, contributing to the last mile of drug discovery and development across small molecule, biologics, and vaccine modalities.
This research internship will last up to 12 weeks at our West Point, PA site. The intern's project will focus on exploring and evaluating internally available artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) tools that can streamline the handling of sample and assay data for visualization and insight generation. The goal of this work is to enhance efficiency in regulated bioanalytical workflows, enabling faster, accurate, and more informed decisions that could impact patient outcomes. In addition, the intern will get exposure to a regulated environment for clinical sample testing and gain valuable industry experience.
They will be able to develop technical and communication skills while contributing to real-world projects, preparing them for future roles in pharmaceutical research as bioanalytical scientists or data scientists. The intern will also have opportunities to participate in various special events/programs for summer interns to explore their future career interests and learn about drug discovery and development at our company.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Gain familiarity with regulated clinical sample testing workflows.
- Explore and evaluate AI/ML tools to streamline the handling of sample and assay data for visualization and insight generation.
- Present findings and conduct informal training sessions to support team adoption of AI-enhanced practices.
- Collaborate with scientists and data analysts to understand current challenges and co-develop AI-driven solutions.
Education
- Candidates must be currently pursuing a B.A./B.S. in computer science, data science, statistics, or related discipline.
- Candidates must be enrolled full-time in the Fall Semester at an accredited university/college after the completion of the internship.
- Candidates must have completed at least 2 years of study toward a Bachelor’s degree.
Required Experience And Skills
- Candidates must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between May and August of 2026.
- Candidates must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Candidates must have proficiency with MS Office Suite.
Preferred Experience And Skills
- Candidates should have prior experience and knowledge in leveraging or developing AI/ML tools.
- Candidate should have familiarity with scripting languages (Python, R, or equivalent).
- Candidates should have experience in visualizing, analyzing, and interpreting large data sets, for example, in .csv/Excel.
- Candidates should be efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidates should have critical thinking, ability to identify issues and seek solutions.

Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.
Salary Range
The salary range for this role is $39,600.00-$105,500.00 USD
