We’re hiring a
Demand Planner to support our Corporate HQ in
Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. This dynamic role demands a proactive problem-solver capable of navigating a complex landscape of fluctuating demands and service expectations. A core responsibility involves continuous, in-depth analysis of "what-if" scenarios to anticipate market shifts and inform strategic decisions. The individual will be instrumental in adapting to seasonal variations in demand, ensuring optimal inventory levels and resource allocation. A key performance indicator for this role will be the meticulous tracking and improvement of forecast accuracy, directly contributing to the enhanced performance and efficiency of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. This requires not only strong analytical skills but also a collaborative approach to integrate insights across departments and ensure alignment with overarching business objectives. This position could be remote for the right candidate.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead demand planning and management processes for new and existing products, collaborating with sales, marketing, operations, and finance to gather market intelligence, analyze data, and forecast demand accurately.
- Manage Supply Chain inputs to D365 products and maintain Planning and Purchasing released product fields as needed in collaboration with Master Data Manager.
- Provide support in developing seasonal demand forecasts, eComm specific forecasts, and anticipate customer reactions to promotions and discounts.
- Manage demand forecast system data integrity, analyze statistical data, recommended solutions, and ensure forecast data accuracy.
- Maintain demand plan to ensure cost effectiveness, to meet customer demands, and identify opportunities to meet customer demands during constrained supply.
- Effectively maintain the demand plan to optimize cost-effectiveness, consistently meet evolving customer demands, and proactively identify strategic opportunities to fulfill customer requirements, especially during periods of constrained supply.
- Lead forecast meetings with stakeholders as needed and support S & OP meeting needs.
- Provide guidance and direction to Supply Planners regarding the optimal quantities for purchase order placement, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
- Assist in Supply Chain risk assessment and mitigation activities.
- Manage demand planning processes and systems for continuing improvement, identify areas of improvements, and recommend action plans.
- Address demand related queries and issues in a timely manner.
- Ensures department activities are compliant with all Company processes and requirements, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other requested tasks and duties beyond specified job description as needed

- Comfortable with all varieties of technology such as ERP/MRP systems, EDI, forecasting tools, customer portals, etc.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field, or equivalent work experience, including a role of similar responsibility/scale, in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
- APICS certification is a plus.
- At least 4+ years of work experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Distribution, and/or Purchasing.
- Experience planning, implementing, managing, and completing complex, multi-functional projects.
- Experience working with internal and external customers.
- Proficient using MS Office/Google Suite. Experience with MS D365 or another ERP system is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Visual and hearing acuity.
- Travel requirements: 5-10%
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
