Boeing AvionX has an exciting opportunity for a Senior AvionX Controls Integration and Test Engineer to perform system integration, verification, and validation for advanced avionics in either Long Beach, CA or Hazelwood, MO. We are rapidly expanding our Avionics Integration and Test team consisting of engineers with autonomous functions and complex networking experience.
Position Responsibilities
Perform Integration and Test (Design Verification, Qualification/DO‑160, and Acceptance testing) of avionics products to ensure delivery of a verified and certified autonomous product.
Design, author, and review test plans, test procedures, test cases, and test scripts that map to requirements and verification criteria (Design Verification Test, Qualification/DO‑160 test, Acceptance tests)
Develop automated test scripts and harnesses using Python, C/C++, or other scripting languages; integrate tests with CI/test benches where applicable.
Configure and run Ethernet/network captures (Wireshark, tcpdump, etc) to validate message timing, determinism, latency, packet-loss, and multicast/broadcast behavior under load
Validate serial bus traffic (ARINC 429, RS-232, RS-485) and discrete signals;
Generate, maintain, and publish test reports suitable for engineering review and certification support.
Develop all required Test Requirements Document
Define test-equipment requirements and collaborate with Test Equipment teams to deliver compliant test racks, data acquisition, signal conditioning, and instrumentation.
Support lab layout, instrumentation, and safety; support the managing of test lab assets and configuration control for reproducible test execution.
Troubleshoot integration issues, support root-cause analysis (RCA), and propose corrective actions; drive retest and closure of anomalies.
Provide technical briefings to program management and stakeholders on testing status, risks, and corrective plans.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
Experience with Ethernet networking and traffic types: UDP, TCP/IP, Broadcast, Multicast, Unicast messages
Experience validating timing, latency, and jitter.
Experience with ARINC 429 protocol and RS-232/RS-485 serial interfaces
Experience integrating diverse input traffic types (serial, discrete, digital) into system-level tests
Experience using network based (network analysis) tools such as Wireshark, network capture devices, and electronic test equipment is required.
Experience with developing test scripts using Python and C++
Familiarity with DO-160 and DO-330 Standards
9+ years related systems integration & test experience in avionics, aerospace, autonomous systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with both Windows OS and Linux OS
Experience working in an independent environment with assigned tasks and drive to completion
Experience with instrumentation: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, Bit Error Rate Testers (BERT), and environmental chambers

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $128,350 - $173,650
