The Control Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer within Controls, Accessories and Marine engineering section, is considered a lead role within the business. You are expected to be an individual with deep technical capability within controls system with a strong emphasis on applications.
The successful candidate is expected to take ownership of the control system design, development and validation to meet detailed customer needs.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Develop and integrate multi domain physics-based plant models of aeronautical engines and related control systems components
Support simulations architectures for engines control systems design, verification, and validation
Perform controllability studies & performance trades (Monte Carlo, sensitivity, parametric analysis)
Lead cross-functional efforts to close the gap between simulations and real engine data increasing the reliability of sim-based validation
Author technical reports, interface definitions, and simulation plans
Ensure adherence to GE’s development process including support for internal and external process audit
Qualifications/Requirements
Master’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, automation technology or a comparable subject
Proficiency with the development of aeronautical engines mathematical model using Numerical Propulsion System Simulation software (e.g. NPSS)
Experience with system engineering principles, e.g. V-lifecycle process including requirements engineering, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methods, tools, validation & verification principles (keywords: DOORS, SCADE, Matlab\Simulink, Synergy, Python, C++)
Understanding of engine and propeller controls principles
Fluency in Italian and English
Work Visa, according to local regulation, is required
