What does a successful Senior Software Solutions Architect do at Fiserv?
Data Commerce Solutions is a strategic business unit within Fiserv that focuses on leveraging differentiated data to create credit, marketing, and fraud products. This business unit aims to enhance customer experience by harnessing real-time big data and utilizing Data Factory, an innovative engineering approach.
Reporting to the SVP of Data Commerce Solutions, the Architect plays a crucial role in supporting the organization and its platforms such as Data Factory and Fraud platforms. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you are responsible for architecting, designing, and developing initiatives across credit risk, marketing, verification, fraud, and data insight products.
What you will do:
- Lead in application architecture and design, collaborating with dev managers and product managers.
- Design and build products across various verticals leveraging big data, SaaS, microservices, and different architectures.
- Be a thought leader in building applications using modern architecture approaches.
- Design and develop products using technologies like Spark, Kafka, NoSQL, Springboot, Docker, Kubernetes, with a solid Java foundation.
- Serve as an expert in cloud architecture and leading a team through architectural evolution.
What you will need to have:
- 7+ years of progressive software development experience, transitioning to architecture roles.
- 3+ years of direct accountable experience in application architecture.
- Strong foundational experience in Java and technologies like Spark, NoSQL, Springboot, or Kafka.
- Understanding of SDLC, DevOps, and continuous delivery/deployment in large-scale organizations.
- Hands-on experience in object-oriented design patterns.
- Experience simplifying complex topics effectively and building and deploying applications in Cloud, preferably Azure.
- Proficient in diagram tools like Miro, Gliffy, Draw.io, PowerPoint, and/or Visio.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, training, or work experience.

- Ability to work effectively with application developers, mentor, and deliver high-quality engineering output.
- Proficiency in relevant tools, methodology, and architectures.
