About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Director for the Launch Team & Solutions Engineering will lead a specialized organization responsible for accelerating application modernization and migration initiatives across the enterprise. This leader will own the vision, strategy, and execution of a high-impact team that partners directly with business and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, efficient, and future-ready platforms.
The Launch Team acts as the enterprise's "solutions engineering" function-similar to a post-sales enablement model-guiding teams to adopt, optimize, and realize full value from new platforms and services. This role is pivotal to our multi-year strategy to move from legacy virtualization platforms to container-based and cloud-native solutions, while ensuring application teams can focus on business outcomes without being slowed by migration complexity.
In this role, you will:- Build and lead the Launch Team, recruiting and developing top solutions engineering talent.
- Define and execute the strategy for application modernization, migration, and optimization at enterprise scale.
- Serve as the senior liaison between application teams, platform engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of migration projects, from initial assessment to post-migration optimization.
- Drive the 7-year enterprise migration program from VMware to containers and other target platforms.
- Establish repeatable patterns, playbooks, and automation to accelerate migrations and reduce operational risk.
- Ensure all modernization and migration activities comply with security, regulatory, and architectural standards.
- Champion the adoption of best-in-class practices, tools, and technologies across teams.
- Represent the Launch Team in executive forums, communicating progress, risk, and strategic direction.
Required Qualifications:- 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:- experience in enterprise technology leadership, including solutions engineering, platform modernization, or large-scale migrations.
- Proven track record in building and leading high-performing technical teams.
- Deep knowledge of containerization (OpenShift, Kubernetes) and virtualization (VMware) technologies.
- Experience with hybrid cloud architectures (Azure, GCP, AWS) and regulated industry requirements.
- Strong ability to influence at the senior executive level and across organizational boundaries.
- Demonstrated success in creating strategies, roadmaps, and execution frameworks for complex technical programs.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevSecOps, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
- Experience in financial services or similarly regulated environments.
- Background in both technology strategy and hands-on engineering leadership.

Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$215,000.00 - $355,000.00
