Who we’re looking for:
Toyota’s Demand & Supply Management (DSM) Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Senior Analyst – Demand Planning to join our team. We’re looking for a self-starter with strong analytical curiosity, a drive for continuous improvement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The right candidate will take initiative, embrace leadership opportunities, and leverage this role to its fullest — shaping how we plan demand and enabling better decisions across Toyota and Lexus.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Senior Analyst in Demand Planning, you will play a critical role in demand sensing and fulfillment. You’ll leverage data-driven insights, market intelligence, and cross-functional collaboration to forecast demand, optimize production schedules, and align with corporate sales and profitability objectives. Your day-to-day will include:
- Analyzing historical sales trends, market dynamics, competitive activity, and macroeconomic indicators to refine forecasts.
- Partnering with Sales, Marketing, Product Planning, and Supply Chain teams to align demand plans with business objectives.
- Translating forecast insights into actionable recommendations for production and inventory targets.
- Preparing executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate the plan, strategic moves, and key risks/opportunities.
- Supporting new product launches with scenario modeling, planning, and volume ramp-up strategies.
- Kaizen & process innovation — identifying, evaluating, and implementing kaizen opportunities across demand planning processes and tools; enhancing reporting, automation, and data visualization.
- Demonstrating strong organizational skills with a track record of managing information flows and ensuring data integrity.
- Leading key demand planning processes — coordinating and executing USA bi-annual planning for Toyota and Lexus, including industry, segment, and volume forecasting, ensuring alignment across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Enterprise Strategy, Product Planning & Strategy, and TMC.
- Scenario planning & impact analysis — developing “what-if” models to ensure we have the right vehicles in the right place at the right time, and quantifying risks/opportunities across the portfolio.
- Demonstrating critical thinking, problem-solving, and scenario-planning skills.
Success in this role means thriving in both worlds — rolling up your sleeves to manage data, processes, and repeatable tasks with precision, while also stepping back to shape insights, influence leaders, and connect demand planning to broader business strategy. You’ll balance operational discipline with strategic impact, working across the end-to-end supply chain to drive plans and execution that strengthen the company.
Qualifications:
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analytics, preferably within the automotive industry or a complex manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel (macros, pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUPs) with a strong ability to analyze and interpret large datasets.
- Experience building and delivering executive-ready presentations, including clear, data-driven storytelling.
Added Bonus If You Have:
- Hands-on experience with automotive wholesale, inventory, and retail sales data.
- Familiarity with vehicle lifecycle management, including product launch and end-of-life planning.
- Experience with data wrangling (using SQL or tools such as Alteryx) to connect and pull data.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization tools for executive-ready reporting.
- Comfort working with industry research, economic trends, and competitive intelligence.
- Background in statistical forecasting, machine learning, or advanced demand sensing techniques.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and anticipate industry trends (e.g., electrification, supply chain constraints, consumer behavior shifts).
