Job Summary
Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Analyzes, tests and assists with the integration of new applications. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Python back-end Engineer with a deep expertise in Python, API development, micro services architecture. The candidate will play a key role in developing scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. They would be responsible for advocating software development practices, conducting peer code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure applications using Python and modern technologies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver high-quality features.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality, maintenance and performance.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Proactively identify and optimize application performance and resolve production issues.
- Ensure best practices in Software Development, including testing, and documentation.
- Ensure applications incorporate secure coding practices and help resolve compliance issues.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in python development, with a proven ability to design, develop, and sustain scalable and high-performance web applications.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Python, including backend frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, FastAPI) and RESTful API development.
- Knowledge in OOP and modular application development and documentation.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization of applications for deployment.
- Good understanding of software development best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with application deployment on cloud-bases environments such as AWS, etc.
- Experience with version control, Git preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross functional teams.
- Experience with modern architectural patterns such as microservices, serverless etc.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools.
Good to have Skills:
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Concourse, and GitHub Actions.
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud services, including EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, and related components.
- Knowledge of other modern front-end frameworks like Angular, React or Vue.js is a plus.
- Familiarity with additional cloud platforms like Azure and/or GCP is a plus.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies with tools like Jira and Rally.
- Contributions to open-source projects or technical blogs.
- Awareness of application monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Kibana, Grafana).
