Overview
ABM Industries is searching for a Vice President of Operations to support our Business & Industry Group and lead operations across Northern CA. The Vice President of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a business leader with a facilities management background or a deep understanding of this industry and will have experience managing facility services for large numbers of clients.
Pay: $145,950 - $271,050
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Duties / Responsibilities:
- Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization’s operations division.
- Collaborates with senior operational leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
- Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Responsible for overall management, growth, and profitability of the operations in the region
- Plans, develops, directs, and monitors all operational and fiscal activities for the operations to ensure quality and consistency with company standards
- Drives the adoption of new company service offerings and go-to market campaigns
- Develops and maintains positive and interactive partnerships with clients, prospects, partners, vendors, and team members
- Provides leadership to multiple Regional Directors, Branch Managers, and /or District Managers to ensure both the retention of current customers and the acquisition of new customers by providing high quality and cost-effective services based on a continuous improvement mindset.
- Provides guidance to region operations management in the identification and resolution of complex issues which may be sensitive in nature.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
- Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, and standards to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
- Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
- Work with team to execute a sales strategy that will maximize sales objectives and bring services into new markets and clients.
- Collaborates with legal and HR driving the strategic development, implementation and management of labor relations programs, policies and services that maximize employee and manager satisfaction and reduces grievances and claims
- Establishes and administers the department’s budget.
- Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to senior operational leadership.
- Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operational performance.
- Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting/finance, including development and monitoring of budgets as well as understanding of factors impacting financial results
- Ability to prioritize projects, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent operational / leadership experience in similar role within the industry
- 12+ years of experience including management experience
- 5+ years Operational Leadership experience
- Successful P&L responsibility over a geographic region or multiple territories/product offerings
