Job Summary:
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to join our KBR Clearfield Team. The Cyber Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the development, maintenance, and execution of cybersecurity Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages in alignment with federal and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. This position requires a strong technical foundation in cybersecurity engineering, combined with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation for compliance and policy purposes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and maintain ATO packages, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
- Conduct security control assessments and provide engineering support to ensure systems meet RMF and NIST requirements.
- Collaborate with system owners, ISSOs, and security teams to identify, document, and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- Draft, edit, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and technical documentation to support compliance and accreditation efforts.
- Provide technical writing expertise to ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with organizational standards.
- Support continuous monitoring activities, vulnerability management, and remediation tracking.
- Stay current with evolving cybersecurity regulations, frameworks, and best practices to ensure compliance and readiness.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with RMF, NIST 800-53, and DoD cybersecurity compliance processes.
- Prior experience with aircraft systems, particularly for military aircraft.
- A strong understanding of computer hardware and software architectures.
