This internship position is for a Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineer working out of our facilities located in Stratford, CT.
Specific responsibilities will include performing Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability analysis and efforts for the products and systems designed and developed by RMS programs. This can include, but is not limited to:
• Reliability Predictions
• Maintainability Predictions
• Reliability Block Diagrams
• Fault Tree Analysis
• Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis
• Fleet Data Analysis and Failure Investigations
• Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System
• Reliability Growth Analysis
Basic Qualifications:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering; math, physics, computer science, data analytics or equivalent degree
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong leadership, administrative, and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently or as a member of a team
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills
Desired Skills:
• Desire experience in Reliability, Maintainability & Availability processes, metrics, analysis methods and tools for aircraft-level assessment. Skills include predictions, failure modes effects analysis (FMEA/FMECA) and/or failure analysis (FRACAS)
• Experience in aircraft or helicopter maintenance, operations (civil or military; crew chief or pilot) or flight test operations/flight test engineering a plus, but not required.
• Prior coursework or relevant experience in reliability, quality, diagnostics/health management, analytics for other applications will be considered
• Familiarity with system engineering processes, including top-down design, requirements allocation/traceability, and integrated test approach
• Experience in working within an integrated team environment
• Experience with writing formal technical documentation
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, requirements, and documentation

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
