About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead CIB Portfolio Manager to specialize in financing various investment banks, mortgage REITs, debt funds, commercial real estate finance companies and other lenders' acquisition/origination of commercial real estate loans.
In this role, you will:- Underwrite and manage a portfolio of commercial real estate loans to be financed on CRE loan repurchase facilities
- Incorporate analysis into well written credit approval memorandums for review by management and senior credit officers
- Analyze financial statements of commercial real estate non-bank lenders for discussion/presentation to senior management and credit supporting client relationships
- Conduct reviews of clients' annual and quarterly financial statements as well as evaluating credit ratings
- Spread financials, as well as monitor covenant compliance, news and related press releases to assess the financial strength of clients
- Review client loan due diligence packages, including investment memos, third party reports, market information, sponsor financials, etc.
- Prepare asset approval forms for new transactions, spread asset level operating statements, property rent rolls and other applicable tasks for new transactions as well as update underwriting database
- Coordinate reviews of third-party reports with the internal review team
- Perform any requested ad hoc tasks for new and existing clients, required reporting and special projects that arise
- Prepare weekly pipeline updates as well as tracking of deal progress and timing
- Determine appropriate strategy and actions to meet moderate to high-risk deliverables
- Assist in leading the team to achieve business objectives and strategy
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
- Interpret policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Required Qualifications:- 5+ years of Experience in CIB Portfolio Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:- Experience underwriting all major commercial real estate property types including office, multifamily, industrial, retail, hospitality, etc.
- Demonstrated leadership in coaching, training and mentoring
- Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
- Outstanding analytical problem solving and decision-making skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in financial analysis
- Demonstrated experience in corporate underwriting
- Excellent skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite experience (specifically advanced finance and accounting Excel functions)
- Extensive technical writing skills
- A BS/BA degree or higher
Job Expectations:- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to work additional hours as needed
