About this role:Wells Fargo Banking and Credit Solutions group within BL&T is seeking a Manager of Wealth Custom Lending to lead a team of Custom Credit Bankers in our Western Markets focused on delivering sophisticated lending solutions for high-net-worth clients. With a core emphasis on driving lending growth, this leader will work closely with financial advisors to proactively source new lending opportunities and expand the business's portfolio. The manager is responsible for preparing and presenting proposals to credit decision makers, guiding deals through the credit process, and serving as a champion for both clients and the team's lending objectives.
In this role, you will:- Lead and develop a team of lending professionals, fostering deep expertise in custom credit structures and innovative client solutions.
- Collaborate extensively with Bankers, financial advisors and other partners to identify, develop, and source new lending opportunities, expanding relationships with both existing and prospective clients.
- Develop strategies and initiatives to drive lending business growth, continually seeking avenues to increase lending volume and market share.
- Shepherd deals through the credit approval process and advocate for optimal outcomes for both clients and the organization.
- Refine and implement lending policies, frameworks, and best practices that encourage innovative client solutions and robust risk controls.
- Identify and act on opportunities to enhance the team's lending capabilities and client offerings.
- Build and sustain strong partnerships with financial advisors, clients, internal partners, and credit decision makers, serving as the primary liaison to advance lending opportunities through the pipeline.
- Coach team members on advanced lending practices, credit presentation, and client relationship management.
- Ensure all lending activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements, even without direct credit authority.
- Monitor relevant regulatory changes and industry trends to keep the team's lending strategies current and compliant.
Required Qualifications:- 8+ years of Wealth Custom Lending experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:- Demonstrated ability to drive new lending business and capitalize on market opportunities.
- Ability to develop and deliver lending solutions tailored to unique client needs and objectives.
- Identify market opportunities and shape team strategy for sustained lending growth.
- Experience with complex collateral, cross-border lending, or emerging lending technologies.
- Deep knowledge of lending products, credit analysis, risk assessment, and relationship management for high-net-worth clients.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and advisory skills, with the ability to present to and influence decision makers.
- Experience developing lending strategies and presenting complex deals for approval.
- Commitment to talent development and client service excellence.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications in lending, credit analysis, or private banking.
- FINRA registration including Series 7 and 66 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
Job Expectations:- Ability to travel to throughout West Coast Markets regularly
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 examinations, or equivalent must be completed within either a 90 or 180-day time period following commencement of employment, depending upon the number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance. Registration for FINRA Series 65 or 66 must be completed prior to conducting Investment Advisory business. Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory. In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance. For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite is required.
- Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position.

Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$250,000.00 - $420,000.00
