Description 
 Leidos’ Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) operation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our ProVision checkpoint products, including next-generation developments.  The ProVision is the world’s leading personnel scanner, found in airports around the world. 
The successful applicant will be responsible for the research, design, and development of electrical equipment and systems, particularly in X-K/Ka band RF systems. Duties may include conducting experiments and evaluating results in the following areas: radar and radar detection equipment, radio, circuitry components, analog and digital computers, and control/test equipment. Also responsible for evaluation of alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for electrical systems. Duties include performing electrical requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, subsystem testing, and quality assurance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform analysis on systems to document all functions and define interfaces for integration, testing and quality assurance. 
- Develop organized engineering road map for product-related tasks and activities.
- Coordinate with other engineering leads to ensure alignment, coordination, and integration throughout product development cycle.
- Works with senior team and develop junior team members to perform the design process and the procedures for updates. 
- Develops electrical systems for power, communication, and sensing, including design, testing, and optimization.
- Develops circuit designs to support products, including design, testing, and optimization.
- Develops design for fabrication for PCB boards to support products, including design, testing, and optimization.
- Plans and oversees FPGA firmware development to support products.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 
- BS degree in a related discipline (such as electrical engineering, physics, or systems engineering) with 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Additional years may be used in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years of practical experience as a HW Systems Design Engineer, ideally in the X-Ka RF bands.
- US person with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Experience working and collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams, including leading technical teams and mentoring less experienced scientists.
- Led or played a key role in designing, building, and testing hardware sensing products from concept to market delivery.
- Familiarity with spectrum allocation and FCC testing and requirements.
- Understanding of different RF system architectures.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel to customer sites as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
- Synthetic aperture experience
- Basic Linux skills

Pay Range:
Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
