POSITION SUMMARY
Manages all maintenance functions in a multi-site manufacturing operation. Defines the vision and strategy for a high-performing maintenance organization, focusing on capital planning, preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, parts inventory management, and continuous improvement
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITITES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Directly manages maintenance associates and maintenance leads through performance management.
- Develops the strategic direction of the department and makes recommendations to the Bulk wire management team.
- Uses data analysis to identify root causes of equipment failures and implements corrective actions to increase equipment uptime.
- Oversees the processing of job assignments by the maintenance lead through performance metrics.
- Ability to order parts, manage inventory and process paperwork for necessary repairs.
- Coordinates all repair and upgrades with the Bulk wire team.
- Ability to effectively document and communicate return on investment for all capital projects.
- Ability to manage department budgets and capital spending plans.
- Provide engineering leadership for electrical and mechanical projects and routine manufacturing activities.
- Provide coordination for all external electrical contractors, mechanical contractors and machine shop services.
- Provide electrical and mechanical engineering technical system support; PLCs, drives/motors, electrical and mechanical machine controls and mechanical design.
- Conduct and or coordinate technical training for plant maintenance associates.
- Owns the preventative maintenance (PM) program and works to make continuous improvements to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Ability to work in a team environment on projects and routine activities.
- Continues to remain fluent in electrical, mechanical and reliability engineering topics and innovative new technology.
- Complies with OSHA/Safety and environmental compliance.
EDUCATION
- B.S. in Engineering preferred (Electrical, mechanical and Electro/Mechanical Technology)
- Advanced maintenance training is preferred but not required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Continuous Improvement skills using data to drive change/action.
- MS-Office Suite
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of engineering/manufacturing experience in applicable large manufacturing equipment and processes.
