About E&T Procurement
Caterpillar’s E&T Procurement organization plays a critical role in supporting all divisions within Energy and Transportation. Our work is geared towards our pistons of Predictable Supply Excellence, Optimized Total Cost of Ownership, Supplier Relationship Management and Lifecycle Sourcing Strategy. Job Summary:
As the Facility Procurement Manager, you’ll serve as the LEPS (Large Electric Power Solutions) procurement representative and the primary contact for facility/division leaders in the Containerized Solutions and Switchgear Product Group. Your facility responsibilities will cover the Products supplied to our customers from Griffin, GA; Alpharetta, GA, and Larne, United Kingdom.
You’ll plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the integration and relationship between the E&T Procurement organization and the local facilities. You’ll be responsible for delivering a lean, responsive, resilient material flow for the facilities from source to dock
What You Will So:
Identify performance gaps within the supply base and develop improvement plans for the identified gaps
Develop and champion strategy across multiple category groups to secure cost and lead time reductions based on growth opportunity for containerized solutions and switchgear
Collaborate with the Supply Network on risk mitigation and use predictive cost modeling both geographic and component-based
Analyze capacity gaps and develop action plan for supply base to meet long term forecasts
Identify, develop, and manage a high-performing global supply network for one or more categories, provide Category onboarding support as-needed
Support Supply Chain Strategy Workstreams

Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.
Level Working Knowledge:
Utilizes RCA techniques, such as Flowchart, Fish-bone Diagram, etc., to investigate basic problems, determine the causes, and find resolutions.
Locates factors that resulted in harmful outcomes of one or more past events.
Pinpoints behaviors, actions, inaction, or conditions that need to be changed.
Extrapolates lessons to be learned to promote the achievement of better consequences.
Practices RCA as an iterative process.
Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
Level Extensive Experience:
Facilitates supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward.
Monitors supplier performance; works to resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements.
Develops quality standards and controls for suppliers.
Builds and maintains partnerships with multiple and/or large suppliers.
Evaluates issues and terminates supplier relationships as appropriate; works with legal departments.
Ensures the fulfillment of report and record-keeping requirements.
Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Knowledge of policies, regulations and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment and services.
Level Extensive Experience:
Works with the implementation of complex purchasing programs and tasks.
Advises on the appropriate solutions to complex purchasing activity problems.
Monitors the effectiveness of procurement policies and strategies in high-cost purchases.
Improves procurement processes to maximize products or services efficiency and effectiveness.
Teaches others how to use advanced technologies and tools for purchasing activities.
Evaluates issues and considerations for purchasing various goods and services.
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of a major process flow, its components and issues.
Makes the business case for new processes, including their cost-benefit ratios.
Additional Information:
This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
