Leidos’ High Fidelity Simulation Business Area designs and delivers cutting-edge system-of-systems solutions that power world-class simulation, training, and analysis products for the U.S. Navy.
In this role, based at a U.S. Government facility in Bethesda, MD, you will work with state-of-the-art technologies to develop advanced sonar tactical decision aids (TDAs) that directly support the Fleet. You’ll be part of a high-performing team whose mission-critical work shapes the Navy’s tactical edge—making a tangible impact on national security.

What You’ll Work On
- Develop and enhance Tactical Signature Guidance (TSG) systems, including sonar TDAs across multiple code baselines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software challenges while contributing innovative solutions.
- Learn and apply new programming languages and technologies, with mentorship and support from experienced teammates.
- Occasionally support hardware system configuration and build-out, gaining exposure to full system integration.

Primary Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively in an agile team environment supporting a large-scale program.
- Own and deliver software solutions in Java, C++, and other modern languages.
- Learn and apply new technologies (e.g., Angular, Rust, Scala) to meet evolving needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with efficient solutions.
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and support urgent requests when needed.
- Communicate clearly with teammates, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Travel occasionally to Manassas, VA for integration and team collaboration.
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physical Sciences, or a related field that provides strong software development skills.
- Experience: Around 5 years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following:
- Designing and developing real-time acoustic signal processing algorithms
- Building parallel processing solutions
- Working with microservices
- Developing software for signal processing, real-time data analysis, or visualization/simulation systems
- Experience with Java and C++ are a must
- Clearance: Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- Certification: Must be willing to earn an IAT Level I (or higher) certification after hire (company-supported).
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret level security clearance.
- Experience with Angular, Rust and/or Scala

Pay Range:
Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
