We are seeking a Director, Protective Services to oversee the safety and protection of our Scottsdale, AZ campus. With multiple buildings and a multi-tenant environment, this role is responsible for creating a secure setting that also reflects our strong focus on customer service. The Director will lead security operations across the campus, ensuring associates, visitors, and partners experience both a safe and welcoming environment.

Job Description Summary

As a Director, Corporate Security, you’ll be responsible for the planning, standardization, and execution of security management activities in multiple owned and leased properties within a defined geographic area. You’ll direct the development and implementation of Corporate Security practices, policies, and procedures for third party leased and associate occupied facilities. In addition, you’ll have operational control of building security and associated financial practices. We’ll count on you to balance multiple tenant and business unit relationships.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Directs the implementation of security initiatives and policies in accordance with established company standards, building codes, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
Oversees the financial controls associated with the operation of multiple owned properties within a defined geographic region, including budget development, expense and income analysis, benchmarking, capital project management and achievement of the appropriate return on investment.
Leads the delivery of security services including preventive measures, investigation management, life safety, Training/Awareness, Incident Management Team (IMT) management, security staffing plans and tenant relations.
Provides direction and supervision of associates, contractors, and other external service providers in the delivery of security services. Administers and oversees the contract guard services programs within individual properties.
Serves as the primary contact for Crisis Management planning, Disaster Recovery, and life safety issues. Assures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements addressing hazardous materials and safety/compliance.
Interacts with high level management within the enterprise and provides solutions to security issues.
Builds relationships with senior leaders to help promote security initiatives, conduct security assessments, monitor projects, and develop associate awareness.
Directs associate management including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organizational planning, hiring and placement, and corrective actions.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Sr AVP, Corporate Security. Manages a team of security professionals.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in related field. Advanced degree preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Patrol Services International (PSI) designations preferred.
Experience: Typically, ten or more years of related security management experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven knowledge of security management functions with an emphasis on management/associate relations, life safety and compliance, financial controls, project management and preventative measures/planning. Excellent verbal and written communications skill and the ability to interact effectively with associates, management, and executives. High level of organizational skills with the ability to standardize and implement practices and procedures across multiple properties.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
