Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
Produce digital photo assets (gallery portraits, unit/episodic, events, etc) for assigned series, events and specials, and offer photo production support, as needed, to all VERSANT networks, in addition to VERSANT corporate assignments. The role will report to the SVP Communications, Entertainment & Sports, VERSANT.
Responsibilities:
- Assign and book external and internal photographers for unit coverage, galleries and events.
- Handle photography production process – ingest images, renumber, create and apply metadata files, resize, upload, and distribute via Getty and VERSANT websites.
- Perform basic editing (cropping, color correction, light retouching) in Photoshop and Bridge
- Lead creative discussions between photographers, external set designers and internal publicity, marketing and creative departments.
- Manage and maintain budgets, negotiate fees and expenses, source and hire photographers and production crews.
- Liaise with Publicity teams for photo publicity placement to trade and consumer press outlets.
- Work with Photo development team to improve NBCU’s photo asset management system/LightBox re usability and functionality.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree Photography, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field.
- Minimum 8 years experience in photography, photo editing and photo production.
- Strong working knowledge of Mac computer systems (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook), Photo Mechanic, Adobe Photoshop, Power Point and Bridge.
- Must have experience working with digital photography and familiar with photo asset management systems

- Superior organization and creative skills.
- Retouching experience a plus
- Must be willing to work in NY, NY or LA, CA

- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on Manager discussion or business need.

- Salary database: $110,000 - $125,000 (bonus-eligible)
