The Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division at Leidos is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Systems Administrator to lead the installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of complex enterprise systems and associated hardware. The ideal candidate will drive IT infrastructure strategy, ensure system reliability, performance, and security, and provide technical leadership across physical and virtual environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems, including servers and supporting hardware, in both physical and virtualized environments.
- Architect, administer, and support systems infrastructure, ensuring alignment with advanced functional specifications and organizational best practices.
- Oversee system performance monitoring, log analysis, and troubleshooting of anomalies to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
- Design and implement system backups, disaster recovery procedures, and restore operations for mission-critical environments.
- Manage storage resources, perform advanced performance tuning, and oversee application of critical patches and system updates.
- Develop, maintain, and review documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Recommend, design, and implement improvements to system architecture, security, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and stakeholders to support organization-wide technology needs and strategic initiatives.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff; review work and coach team members.
- Lead technical projects, process improvements, and system upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required.
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience in lieu of degree.
- Extensive experience in installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of IT systems and associated hardware.
- Deep understanding of system infrastructure management, IT best practices, and enterprise architecture.
- Hands-on experience with: System Administration, Server Administration, System Configuration, System Deployment, Systems Support, Troubleshooting.
- Advanced proficiency in managing physical and virtual systems.
- Experience with backup and recovery of IT infrastructure in large-scale environments.
- Ability to update and support systems by tuning performance, allocating storage, and implementing patches.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Windows environments and Active Directory (AD) administration.
- Expert scripting skills, including extensive experience with Microsoft PowerShell and automation.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience leading and coaching technical teams.
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop technical solutions requiring deep analysis and domain expertise.
- Experience identifying and recommending system functional specifications and improvements.
- Experience reviewing system performance logs to identify anomalies and proactively troubleshoot issues.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
