ELECSYS Engineering Group is searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer (8-15 years of experience), with experience in designing electrical systems for industrial and/or transportation facilities. This role will include providing technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, communications, and fire detection systems. Candidate should have a strong educational background with relevant coursework. Candidate should possess the ability to work independently and lead projects, but also be a valued member of a highly efficient team. Candidate should be performance-driven, client-focused with an incredible work ethic. Other desired capabilities include: excellent written/verbal communication skills; basic understanding and proficiency with AutoCAD, Microstation and/or Revit; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); experience using SKM Power Tools or other power systems analysis software.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Work on the electrical design and coordination of various projects, with an emphasis on industrial and transportation facilities, and associated electrical systems, as well as the analysis of existing facilities.
- Most projects will include medium voltage applications and/or motor controls.
- Establish design criteria, perform design calculations, develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans and specifications.
- Assist with cost estimating, code review, field investigation, report writing and other similar electrical engineering related tasks.
- Provide electrical engineering design services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFI’s (request for information).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in design of medium voltage power distribution systems, motor controls, and variable frequency drives.
- Solid understanding of electrical codes and standards.
- Familiarity with instrumentation, PLC controls and SCADA network architecture.
- PE License
