Job Title: Accounts Receivables Manager – 12 months contract
Salary/Grade: £47,000 – £52,000 pa (depending on experience)
Location: Peterborough

Caterpillar Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators and Locomotives. This is a great opportunity to join the Financial Services team, where you will have the unique opportunity and exposure to work closely with both our end customers, and our significant global matrix teams, supporting the Industrial Power Solutions division. You’ll be accountable for supporting a team of three credit controllers to enact our internal governance effectively, ensuring customers pay both timely and accurately, and handle overdue payments in-line with our company’s risk policies. The successful candidate will excel in building strong customer relationships, have a passion to resolve customer issues through strong collaboration across our internal partners to drive customer satisfaction and deliver business goals.
Furthermore, you will be provided the scope (and any required development) to help shape and improve the as-is, to innovate and create more value for our customers and the organisation. This role works closely with their peers and cross-functional departments, offering continuous support to team members, fostering teamwork, and providing cover for the Business manager on occasion.
What You Will Do
Lead and manage a team, providing strategic direction and ensuring effective execution of controls.
Cultivate a collaborative and high-performing team culture through continuous development, mentoring, and training initiatives.
Execute Caterpillar’s internal accounting practices to ensure timely customer payments whilst mitigating financial risks and observing credit insurance guidelines.
Prepare and deliver reports on aged debt performance, communicating key insights to senior leadership and other stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
Represent the AR function in the deployment of a new ERP system for North American legal entities; lead testing, process migration, and change management to ensure successful implementation.
Ownership of month-end tasks, ensuring timely completion and accurate reporting in line with deadlines.
Support the management of credit insurance policies across local and international markets, ensuring adequate coverage and compliance.

This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
What You Have:
Effective Communications:
Strong leadership, initiative, inter-personal skills, coupled with the ability to (verbally and written) communicate effectively across a complex internal and external organisations.
Accuracy and attention to detail:
Financial Analysis:
Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools/techniques to collect data from a variety of sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion (ie. Power BI, Alteryx).
Good knowledge of accounting and financial accounting.
PC skills:
Candidates may also have gained the following skills:
Knowledge of process improvement techniques and tools (ie. Six Sigma, Lean).
Prior job-related experience having worked within a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment, or within debt collection / recovery within credit finance insurance.
Degree focused in Finance, Economics, Accounting (or relevant other fields), an equivalent qualification (ie. CIMA, CFA, ACCA, CPA), or a broader qualification of relevance to the industry/role (ie. MIEx, Risk/Compliance).
Experience of having worked within financial reporting process controls framework (ie. Sarbanes-Oxley).
