About your role:
At Fiserv, we are dedicated to transforming financial services technology to benefit our clients. As a Database Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a high available Database infrastructure that is crucial for the business. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver database solutions that align with our business goals and client needs.
What you will do:
- Planning and implementing all types of backups and restore operations
- Administrating high availability solution like mirroring, replication and always on
- Space management and transactional log files
- Installing and configuring Database servers
- Setting up security policies and creating logins and roles
- Resolution of incidents, determination of Root Cause for higher priority incidents
- Coordinate patching, code deployments, work support troubleshooting tickets, run SQL queries
- Implement and monitor IT service management processes to ensure high availability and reliability
- Utilize DynaTrace and Splunk for performance monitoring and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve IT issues
- Develop and maintain documentation for IT services and processes
- Develop reusable assets, Create knowledge repository.
- Being a team player with ability to collaborate idea sharing in strong product setting.
- Adhering to Agile Sprints, Delivery Framework, and SDLC best practices
What you will need to have:
- 6+ years of hands-on exercises in RDS database administration ( Oracle or PostgreSQL or SQL server)
- 4+ years of experience in DB administration, write efficient queries, read, and understand the query plan and write stored procedures and functions
- 5-6 years of hands-on exercises in data replication tools
- Experience in failover, backups, monitoring, and parameter groups.
- Hands on experience in High availability, Cluster management, Failover
- Superior problem-solving skills and debugging capabilities
- Flexible and self-driven with a collaborative approach to problem solving

- 4+ years of previous software engineering work, preferably in Banking and Financial, Payment industry.
