What does a strong Application Support Advisor do?
As an Application Support Advisor level person, you will support Tandem Systems and/or Tandem development which will be used to focus on production and non-production technology systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include working in a fast-paced environment: to develop support utilities and applications for managing EPOC online application systems; implementation of core processing configurations; implementation of all code releases required to support the online application system; addressing client/vendor/internal escalated requests for assistance; engaging with implementation, systems, and/or development teams on the build-out of Tandem services; improving execution by scripting of repetitive tasks, and automate error notification. You must have an overall understanding of DevOps and fundamentals of multi-tier application support. You will lead the rotating on-call schedule, project participation, and business continuity support for the Payments EPOC Authorization processing on Tandem Non-Stop hardware. Maintain and develop scripting alerts to monitor production systems, respond to and troubleshoot escalated incidents. You should have great communication skills, as the role periodically interfaces with clients, vendors and business partners. Knowledge and familiarity with other HP-Nonstop service products and services. Familiarity with Linux/Unix environment support a plus.
What you will do:
Tandem systems and/or development associates can provide 24x7 support of production applications on a rotating on-call support basis and participate in resolution of escalated incident calls. This includes addressing Service Point escalated issues impacting FIs, transaction and authorization processing to acquirers, issuers, and to Card Services surrounds: Card Valet, Rule Manager, Falcon, EMV, NTT, APIs
Troubleshooting issues within production and non-production multi-tier environments. Execute Service Point requests for questions, escalated SEV or redirect client issues, custom ad hoc queries, change tasks, incidents tasks, problem tasks, address Batch file transmissions and job scheduling issues impacting timely delivery of content to financial institutions.
SME capable of making sensitive/critical configuration changes to the EPOC Switch, Auth path, ACCEL Network, to facilitate normal transaction processing and routing through the Payment’s Switch.
Recommend and/or create application monitoring scripts and automate alerts to inform technical teams of problems in addition to review performance and infrastructure capacity improvements as well as enhancements to existing scripts and utilities in use.
Point of Contact to the CPT/DT’s engagement on deliverables in progress: providing feedback, gathering information for research/validation, ensuring AppOps has all artifacts and information required to support production.
Work with Change Management/Release Managers on the evaluation of change events and in planning work items for production deployment; review deployment artifacts to ensure completion prior to executing production installs. Participate in code and infrastructure patch installations or fallbacks. Validate systems are operating as they should, following a completed installation of new code or patches to the environment.
Active participation in system maintenance events, standard windows, and escalation or assistance requests from other business units in support of One Fiserv. Assume Network coordination and triage during system maintenance and high priority severity (SEV) events. Participate in assigned projects representing the Debit Support organization, communicate status, issues and delivery risks.
Cross-functional associate working between the STAR and the EPOC team; this includes leveraging both Linux/Unix and Tandem platform skills putting transition of support activities from development to the Backoffice support teams.
A self-driven team player with ability to demonstrate critical thinking, providing options, recommendations, and additional actions relating to resolving issues, mitigating risks and resolving escalated concerns while being able to work without constant guidance, and able to explore resolution based on extensive understanding of the function.
What you will need to have:
7+ years of IT experience with background in development or operations support with hands-on experience using Tandem/HP Non-Stop.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, equivalent formal technical training or a minimum of 5 years in support of a transaction processing, internet application or internet banking
Experienced in Tandem/HP Non-Stop, Pathway, TEdit, Peruse, Enform, Tacl, Netbatch, SCUP, Oracle/Golden Gate, SFTP, EMV technology, Risk and Fraud technology, NDM, Spooler
Experienced in Agile and DevOps environments and cultures, as well as a good understanding of data communications protocols such as TCP/IP, and creating dashboard for Splunk/App dynamics/ExtraHop a plus
Experienced working in a payment processing environment with emphasis in Debit card and ATM technology.
Strong analytical problem-solving ability – thinking out of the box
Ability to work off hours/weekends and 24x7 on-call when required
Knowledge of Office 365 (Excel, Word, MS Access)
