Description:You will be the Low Observable Coater - Specialty Coatings for the team which is responsible for applying special technology coatings to produce aircraft, parts, and assemblies with low-observable characteristics.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Low Observable Coater - Specialty Coatings, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting laboratory, engineering, and manufacturing process specifications and planning the sequence of operations for finish applications on low-observable aircraft, parts, assemblies, and test articles.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and operating robotic coating application equipment, including loading programs, initializing robots, and positioning parts/assemblies to be finished
- Operating robotic coating application systems, recognizing problems, and initiating corrective action as required
- Setting up and operating manual application equipment to apply both special technology and traditional coatings when so assigned
- Performing preliminary process preparations such as removing/reinstalling panels and assemblies, cleaning, and hand or machine surface finishing when so assigned
- Mixing coatings to specified proportions, verifying physical properties of mix such as viscosity and temperature as required

Basic Qualifications:Two years of similar outside experience with special technology coatings which would include the application, hand and/or machine finishing of aircraft components, parts and fine details such as contours and tapers.
NOTES:
1. The ability to perform basic computer skills will be required in order to operate computer controlled paint robots.
2. Must have documented evidence of ability to read and interpret complex assembly and installation blueprints.
3. Must possess active Security Clearance(s) as required by the respective program. Candidates may start with approved Interim clearance.
Desired Skills:- Previous coatings experience
- 5 years experience as a Low observable coater
- Previous F-35 or F-22 coatings experience
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
