Essential Functions:
- Optimize Less Than Truckload (LTL) carrier resources to meet vendor requirements, ensuring accountability for on-time service, freight cost, and vendor/carrier relationships.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal teams—including digital, inventory fulfillment, demand planning, distribution center operations, and carrier management—to effectively manage freight flow.
- Provide communication and guidance to stakeholders regarding seasonal surge planning, carrier capacity commitments, mode selection, and transportation priorities.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in routing software and shipment planning processes, ensuring accurate and efficient use of transportation systems.
- Manage TMS/Blue Yonder to maximize shipment efficiency and achieve operating goals related to cost, service, capacity, and vendor/carrier performance.
- Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operating metrics, focusing on cost savings, service performance, and compliance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination of transportation operations.
- Develop and present solutions to inventory fulfillment teams, distribution centers (DCs), and carrier partners to address immediate and long-term transportation challenges.
- Represent Transportation in planning and executing large-scale vendor initiatives, partnering across diverse business units and external carriers.
- Negotiate equipment needs and carrier rate submissions to secure cost-effective capacity solutions.
- Provide carriers with clear guidance on committed volume expectations.
- Communicate proactively to stakeholders regarding missed or delayed shipments that may impact delivery to Lowe’s DCs or stores.
- Coordinate with vendors and carriers to align freight needs and available capacity with Lowe’s inventory requirements.
- Successfully manage projects independently or as part of the LTL team, while completing additional assignments as directed by leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years of professional experience in Parcel Transportation, LTL Transportation or Logistics
Preferences:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 1 year of experience with Transportation Routing & Optimization Systems
• 1 year of familiarity with transportation cost modeling (Channel Analysis) and enterprise-wide transportation control software
