Job Purpose:
The Commissioning Lead-I&C will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning activities related to Instrumentation and Control systems on the BP_ROO_EPCM project in Basra, Iraq. The individual will ensure that all I&C systems are properly tested, commissioned, and integrated into the overall project.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop commissioning plans and procedures for I&C systems in coordination with the project team.
- Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure proper installation and testing of I&C systems.
- Supervise a team of commissioning technicians and engineers.
- Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on site.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the commissioning process.
- Ensure that all I&C systems meet project specifications and standards.
- Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams as needed.
- Working knowledge of Completions systems, ideally GOC (QEDI Go Completions)
- Rotating equipment large and small experience essential
- Knowledge of process systems, piping, materials, alignments, and working practices
- Experience in Water treatment plants in addition to Oil & Gas would be an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Instrumentation and Control systems
- Experience in commissioning FEED, Design, onshore, Brownfield, and Construction Site projects.
- Good Communication in English and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Qualifications:
Mandatory: Educated to Engineering level with professional qualifications and accreditation relevant to the role.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognized institution
- 20 years of overall experience and minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning Instrument systems
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
Work Environment:
- The Commissioning Lead - Instrument will work on-site at the project location in Basra, Iraq. The work environment may involve exposure to construction sites, industrial equipment, and hazardous materials. The candidate must be willing to work in a challenging and demanding environment, with the ability to adapt to changing conditions and priorities.
