London Bay, a luxury homebuilder and developer with over 35 years of experience, is currently recruiting for a Full-time Project Accountant - London Bay Development Group.
JOB ROLE: This position is responsible for developing integrated expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations related to construction/overhead departments and investment partnership entities. This role will also support the profitability and reporting for projects and strategic initiatives, working very closely with all Development team members to ensure there is strong management reporting in place. This is a hands-on role that will touch every aspect of the Division. Will require learning all aspects of the accounting systems and processes.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Key Responsibilities (Essential functions, Specific tasks)
- Develops financial models to analyze the impact of pricing/cost decisions on profitability.
- Leverages Sage 300 systems to monitor KPIs and expenses to call out trends impacting business results.
- Monitors expenses monthly, weekly, and daily, and provides appropriate analysis and support to ensure achievement of the budget for commercial development projects.
- Will work closely with banks for construction loan draws. Must understand loan documents, schedules, and requirements.
- Partners with production and overhead teams to develop reporting around operations efficiency and other ad-hoc analysis as necessary.
- Partners with operation and construction teams to manage forecasting, support budget reviews, and support spending updates as necessary.
- Assist the Controller in budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of investments or risks.
- Partner with the operations teams to process invoices promptly with the correct coding.
- Assist with various financial reporting, planning, and forecasting duties to support corporate budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Maintain departmental reporting to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting of P&L and balance sheet financial statements.
- Develop annual budgets for support functions and partner with department heads in adherence to individual budgets. Meet daily, weekly, as needed with department heads to ensure visibility to budget and YTD performance according to department.
- Analyze sales and expense trends to improve the accuracy of forecasted results and to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide ad-hoc and analytical support as needed to leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
Mandatory Experience/Background: Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, with a focus on large project development. Excellent with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Must be able to follow and model the LB Core Values – Quality, Teamwork, Commitment, Integrity, and Respect. Adept at learning new software systems.
Desired Experience/Qualifications: Prior Sage 300 Accounting experience. Strong understanding and foundation of accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within teams. Experience with real estate development accounting.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for long periods of time. Lift and carry up to 5 pounds.
