The team currently has an opportunity for a Manager – Product Engineering based in Singapore. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will provide leadership for all engineering design functions in Product Engineering and ensure that the products meet the requirements of the applicable industry standards, customer requirements and SPM’s internal design criteria. The candidate shall also be up to date with latest industry-wide developments and be able to suggest innovative solutions to address any product gaps. The candidate must also communicate internally on these trends and highlight any product gaps that may be present.
What You Will Do:
Engineering Design
Supervise the preparation of MMRs, drawings and layouts based on requirements set in the RED BOM, approved quote layout, SPM internal Design Specifications and/or Industry Requirements.
Must be fully conversant with all aspects of the design and functionality of Surface Wellhead equipment: Conventional, Unitized and Splitter variations and all of their ancillary components.
Ensure clear understanding of the client’s technical specifications/drawings and design wellhead system to conform to industry and customer requirements.
Responsible for on time completion of product engineering projects.
Identifying cost saving opportunities, where applicable
Must be capable of interpreting analysis (classical calculations or FEA) of new and existing products to confirm their operational suitability and that they conform to all specified standards.
Select materials and processes to achieve cost and performance objectives.
Ensure that the transfer of information from tender engineering to product engineering, in the event of a sales order award, is made in a timely, organised and accurate manner.
Assist internal customers with regard to solving problems associated with the manufacture, procurement and maintenance of quality levels for the products.
Assist with the creation of Engineering documents to Sales and Marketing, providing technical data where required.
Project Schedule
Plan work schedule and supervise staff accordingly to maintain product engineering related tasks are completed on time.
Keep all SPM internal customers informed of progress and outcomes. Resolving issues as they become apparent.
Other Duties
Travel as required to provide engineering support for; product sales, field runs and troubleshooting exercises.
Communicate with all levels of internal and external personnel as needed providing clear and concise reports.
Interface with 3rd party regulatory agencies.
Work assignments must carried out to the highest quality level.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by the Engineering Manager Eastern Hemisphere within the physical constraints of the job.
What You Have:
Background Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 12 years’ experience in the product design of oil field equipment, preferably in either the Surface or Subsurface Wellhead disciplines.
Proven ability to work under pressure to meet all agreed deadlines and time scales.
The ability to work and communicate with all levels within the organization to accomplish common goals and directives.
Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Additional Info:
This role requires travelling up to 10% of the time.
This position requires working onsite five days a week.
