The Role
Andersen offers comprehensive valuation services with thorough, independent analyses together with superior client service and responsiveness. Our real estate valuation and consulting services are used by private equity firms, REITS, investment management companies, and individuals for a variety of purposes including management planning, financial reporting, gift and estate tax planning, bankruptcy proceedings, and litigation support.
As a Senior Associate on Andersen’s real estate valuation team, you will take on greater responsibility in leading appraisal engagements, managing client relationships, and mentoring junior staff. This role is ideal for professionals who are ready to work independently on complex appraisal assignments while continuing to deepen their technical expertise and industry knowledge.
You will have the opportunity to complete valuation assignments from start to finish, develop client relationships, and expand your skills in areas such as discounted cash flow modeling and property-specific market analysis.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage appraisal and consulting assignments across various property types (e.g., industrial, retail, multifamily, mixed-use, hotels).
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring timely delivery of work.
- Prepare, review, and finalize appraisal reports that comply with USPAP standards, with minimal oversight.
- Perform advanced financial and valuation analyses, including building and auditing cash flow models in Excel and Argus Enterprise.
- Research and analyze market data, comparable sales, and lease transactions to support valuation conclusions.
- Train, mentor, and review the work of Associates and Experienced Associates, providing feedback to support their professional development.
- Participate in business development activities, including attending industry networking events and supporting proposals.
- Contribute to team efficiency by identifying process improvements and sharing best practices.

The Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, minimum 3.2 GPA is required.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in commercial real estate valuation or consulting.
- Proven ability to complete appraisal reports independently with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel (advanced modeling skills required).
- Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in mentoring junior staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact confidently with brokers, clients, and market participants.
- Prior experience managing client relationships and/or engagements independently.
- Experience with Argus Enterprise, Costar Realty, REIS, and ESRI is strongly preferred.
- Active Appraisal Trainee License or Certified General Appraiser License strongly preferred; progress toward an MAI designation is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in Los Angeles, the expected salary range for this role is $100,000 to $120,000; the actual salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications.

We offer paid time off, beginning at 160 hours annually and provides twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Compensation: In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance, a discretionary long-term cash incentive program, and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.
