The Role
Join our Global Manufacturing team as a General Assembly Virtual Engineer , where you'll assess product designs for manufacturing readiness using math-based tools and simulation technologies. You'll lead virtual builds, dynamic simulations, and cross-functional reviews to ensure robust product launches. This role focuses on early product development and requires adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Ideal candidates are curious, self-motivated, collaborative, and results-driven.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
Simulation Engineering

Perform dynamic simulations for robotic/manual operations

Analyze tool designs and product interfaces

Recommend improvements to product, process, and tooling

Deliver reports with findings and solutions

Manage simulation requests and advise on feasibility

Lead collaborative reviews with engineering teams

Ensure simulation outputs meet program timelines

Drive continuous improvement and apply problem-solving tools

Adjust to shifting program and team priorities

Adjust work schedule to meet the needs of a global team
Virtual Builds
-
Execute virtual builds across the product lifecycle
-
Create and manage build sequences using Siemens Manufacturing Process Planner (MPP)

Lead virtual build events with cross-functional teams
-
Integrate plant layouts and ergonomic data into virtual assessments

Validate new methods and technologies
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s in Engineering or other relevant degree
-
2+ years in dynamic simulation (e.g., Process Simulate)

Knowledge of General Assembly processes and launch support
-
Experience with automotive assembly process analysis in Body Assembly or General Assembly

Basic programming knowledge using tools like Python, C#, VBA, or DBX

Proficiency in:

Strong communication and simplification of technical concepts

Experience leading large engineering reviews (150+ attendees)
