About this role: The Structuring and Controls Group supports Wells Fargo Asset-Backed Securitization (ABS) desks in executing new issuances of asset-backed securitizations and equity-linked structured products. We are currently seeking to fill a Senior Market Risk Specialist position.
The Senior Market Risk Specialist plays a critical role by conducting independent modeling and offering document reviews of CMBS, RMBS, CLO, Consumer ABS and Commercial ABS products. Responsibilities include understanding and interpreting collateral characteristics, building performance triggers and events, applying performance stress scenarios, calculating security cashflows and risk/return analytics, reviewing offering documents for proper and adequate disclosure of deal terms, structuring terms and definitions, modeling assumptions, priority of payments and risk/return results.
This role requires a high level of professional skepticism to identify and resolve any potential issues throughout the deal lifecycle. The Specialist is expected to develop deep subject matter expertise across asset types, cash flow structures and evolving market trends. Additionally, the Senior Market Risk Specialist will support ABS new issuance desks by validating the accuracy of ABS deal packages submitted to rating agencies and/or investors. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to understand new ABS asset types and innovative deal structures. The Senior Market Risk Specialist will also be expected to perform numerical and booking reviews on the issuance documents for equity-linked structured products.
Required Qualifications:- 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: trading, desk analyst, Capital Markets, market risk, interest rate risk or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years structured finance experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications- Strong knowledge of fixed income products and equity-linked structured products
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in ABS issuance, underwriting, or servicing, with hands-on expertise in ABS modeling and deal management
- Prior experience in accounting firms or rating agencies with direct engagement with ABS professionals and legal teams
- Advanced analytical skills; proficient in Excel VBA and Intex Dealmaker
- Skilled in interpreting legal documents including offering memorandums, indentures, and private placement memorandums
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions including structuring, deal management, legal, and compliance
- Effective multitasker with a track record of meeting deadlines on time-sensitive tasks
- Experience in collateral negotiations, compliance reviews, and risk assessments
- Background in credit underwriting and analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
