VOIP Technician
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
New Installations:
- Install, operate, maintain, modify and repair phone systems and data equipment.
- Work with TIG’s project management team to satisfy customer requirements, insuring best possible customer experience.
- Work with voice and data carriers to ensure a smooth cutover.
- Install telephone endpoints and peripherals.
- Provide information to Sales/Operations team based on customer feedback for use in Account Planning and Analysis and the Sales Engineering Process
- Be onsite at customer premises for cutover and follow up.
- Provide post installation support.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must be comfortable with conducting occasional training sessions on usage of telephones and peripherals.
- Maintain expert technical proficiency on all services and systems in TIG’s product line, including successful completion of any required technical certification or training.
- May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the business
Existing Customer Service:
- Provide onsite and remote support to our existing customer base.
- Duties may include troubleshooting call routing issues and equipment failures, dealing with voice and data network outages, working with voice and data carriers in the event of outages and for troubleshooting.
- Professionally handle routine customer relations and training.
- Assist other technical personnel in the performance of their duties when requested.
Education And/Or Experience
Applicant must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of Mitel phone systems is preferred but a telecommunications background is required. Data networking background is required. CCNA or similar background preferred. Must have reliable daily transportation. Mileage is paid and overtime hours are available based on work load.
