Description
Leidos is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and track the development and implementation of complex, strategic initiatives for the Defense Information Systems Agency ‘s Missile Defense Customer. This role requires strong project management skills. The successful candidate will ensure alignment with strategic goals, manage dependencies, and support execution from planning through delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, risk mitigation strategies, and communication frameworks.
- Prepare and deliver project status reports, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), milestones, and risks.
- Proactively identify project risks and issues; develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
- Ensure all project activities are compliant with internal DISA policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations
- Use project management tools to track progress, monitor task completion, and manage dependencies.
- Collaborate with service teams to manage dependencies and ensure consistent progress toward goals
- Maintain the requirements register, cross-team dependencies, risk assessments, and reference architectures
- Identify and resolve challenges related to prioritization, scheduling, and resource constraints
- Prepare reports, presentations, and visualizations for use in weekly updates with DISA and MDA Leadership.
- Coordinate project management efforts including strategy, requirements decomposition, and delivery tracking
- Facilitate technical exchanges, kickoff meetings, and cross-team collaborations with technical, engineering and implementations staff in support of initiative success
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of integrated roadmaps and track progress against critical milestones
- Provide assistance in developing and staffing procurement packages through leadership and contracting offices for equipment or services needed to complete projects
- Work with various customer representatives and DISA support agreement management team to develop interagency support agreements.
Required Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- CompTIA Security Plus
- TS (preferred SCI) Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field with 12 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience. (Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
- Demonstrated success in program or project management, overseeing projects or initiatives that span multiple functional areas or disciplines.
- Experience managing scope, schedule, budget, and resources for complex programs, including risk and change management.
- Proficient in program planning, resource allocation, stakeholder communication, and performance tracking.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Project to develop and update project schedules.
- Experience in use of Microsoft Visio to understand project network topology and architecture developed by engineers.
- Experience coordinating with internal teams, external vendors, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in developing and delivering reports and status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Technical project management experience, preferably in mission-critical or classified environments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of contract management and experience managing government contracts or working in regulated industries (e.g., defense, healthcare, aerospace).
- Experience in conducting post-project/program evaluations, assessing outcomes, and applying lessons learned to future initiatives.
- Understanding of program governance, enterprise-level portfolio management, or strategic planning frameworks.
- Experience working in DISA
- Prior military experience
- Technical experience in data networking and telecommunications
- Experience in providing papers, presentations and briefings to senior leadership including General Officer or Senior Executive Service (SES) level.
- Experience with Federal Inter-Agency support agreements
- Experience with Treasury Department G-Invoicing system

Pay Range:
Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
