The DTRA I3TS program provides enterprise-wide IT support to enable DTRA’s Information Management & Technology Directorate (ITD) to consolidate, modernize, and continuously innovate the delivery of IT services and mission capabilities to DTRA’s internal and external mission partners operating in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
The Communications Specialist will be a member of the Customer Experience team and will develop high quality, accurate, and user-friendly communications for a large set of customers, stakeholders and leadership. In addition to traditional communications work, this role will involve desktop publishing and graphics design to create visually compelling materials. They will apply best practices in communications, organizational change management, and customer relationship management to enhance the migration experience for all users. The candidate will collaborate with customers, users, project managers, leadership and subject matter experts to obtain in-depth understanding of the technical content to successfully execute communications campaigns.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop project communications including formal communications plans, execute, and deliver project communications to help prepare users for upcoming changes.
Create visually appealing materials using desktop publishing software and graphics design tools to enhance communication effectiveness and user engagement.
Design and produce marketing materials, infographics, flyers, posters, and other visual communications to support migration and change management efforts.
Support migration efforts with the development and distribution of a wide range of products that may include customer emails, newsletters, briefings, program informational materials, customer migration guides, and content for senior leadership.
Establish metrics for measuring the success of communications initiatives.
Ensure documentation and editing support includes checks for accuracy and consistency in organization, style, readability, and accessibility based on the medium.
Initiate, plan, execute, and report on tasks independently.
Convey complex technical information in a clear and simple manner.
Use tools including the MS Office suite, collaboration tools such as MS Teams and SharePoint, as well as Adobe Creative Suite for design and publishing tasks.

Experience working in an IT environment
Experience in executive communications and organizational support, including experience liaising with high-level customers and stakeholders
Advanced writer and editor
Experience with desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Publisher, Canva) and graphics design tools
Portfolio demonstrating visual design capabilities and layout skills
Understanding of change management methodologies
Ability to translate complex technical subject matter into user-friendly communications
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong technical aptitude
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with multiple audiences and against a deadline
Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the proven ability to work across different audiences, personalities, and experience levels

Pay Range:
Pay Range $63,700.00 - $115,150.00
