We are seeking an experienced Operations Technician/Plant Operator for our Kingsport, TN. Facility.
You will be responsible for operating, monitoring, troubleshooting and participation in maintenance for the facility equipment. This facility is an air separation unit (ASU) supporting gas pipelines and merchant businesses. Liquid Nitrogen, Oxygen and Argon products are manufactured and delivered to a diverse customer base.

Required Skills / Abilities:
A strong mechanical aptitude.
A strong commitment to safety, working as a team, and operational excellence.
A self-starter with a strong work ethic.
Ability to read and interpret piping schematics/ diagrams.
Utilizing written procedures for starting and stopping equipment.
Isolating systems for maintenance using work permits and lock out tag out processes.
Operating manual and pneumatic valves.
Operating systems from remote location via Distributed Control System.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe work environment. Demonstrate leadership with all Company & industry safe work processes to prevent all injuries. Ensure proper documentation is maintained for safety related activities.
Report on all Safety and Environmental incidents.
Follow Process Safety parameters and protocols, Environmental and/Regulatory requirements and ensure equipment parameters are not exceeded.
Perform field checks on process and equipment in accordance with procedures.
Support maintenance activities and coordinate corrective maintenance to optimize plant reliability.
Participate in investigations and Root Cause Analysis to identify and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Facilitate operational excellence and customer satisfaction through productivity, reliability, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain customer communications and relationships, ensuring customer demand rates are satisfied while maximizing efficiency and profitability.
Prepare and submit documentation, including standard operating procedures, internal/external audits, and management of change documents.
Monitor activities of external contractors and conduct safety training.
Follow lockout/tagout procedures and issue safe work permits for jobs in the plant.
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Plant process experience and/or Process Technology degree/certification preferred but not required.
A strong commitment to safety.
Experience with personal computers and/or DCS systems.
Excellent attention to detail.
Able to work within a team environment with the ability to change priorities quickly.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Availability to work a rotating 12-hour shift.
Flexibility to work overtime.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift at least 50 lbs.
Availability to be on-call.
Elevated work required.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
